Through Space and Time

2019-2022

This collection is rooted in our classification of the land. Through time and terrain, based on the cartology and foraged colour collected during my daily walks in the pandemic, they map physical and spiritual journeys across this period. They speak of our personal and wider connections to our environment/home through the spaces and times these moments exist.

To live, every being must put out a line, and in life these lines tangle with one another

In Conversation with the Trees

The slow process of working with and in the landscape. In this short film I am collecting the bark from an oak tree I grew up playing around in Epping Forest, which was cut down and rotting. Using the broken down oak bark I dye wool and threads under the trees as a memorial, which will be woven back into my work.

Plants dye threads which weave lines, walks, mantras, footsteps. There is a slowing down and working with the materials of the land. Lines follow the paths I took, the lines I drew on the land with my feet.
